Quality product. Local solutions.
That's the Wyoming way.
“If you've never experienced the joy of accomplishing
more than you can imagine, plant a garden.”
ROBERT BRAULT
Wyoming ranchers are the epitome of
generosity and genuine concern for others.
Food from the Farm + Ranch was created to utilize Wyoming agricultural products to combat food insecurity. Fresh food and sources of high-quality protein are notoriously expensive and difficult to procure for the American food bank system; Wyoming Hunger Initiative envisions a day when families and food pantries alike can purchase fresh meat from local producers instead of seeking out-of-state supplies. Wyoming is a state of plenty, and agricultural solutions are a key element to reducing and eliminating hunger.
Wyoming Hunger Initiative works with the Wyoming Stock Growers Association to streamline donations that are in turn processed and distributed through the Wyoming Hunger Initiative regional network. Wyoming Hunger Initiative is positioned to cover the cost of processing thanks to the generosity of a multitude of donors; alternately, a donor may choose to pay for the processing before donating to Wyoming Hunger Initiative. Wyoming Hunger Initiative’s regional framework is uniquely positioned to understand the need within their regions and distributes this high-quality protein based on that knowledge or per the donors request.
All domestic livestock donated to Wyoming Hunger Initiative must be processed by a USDA or state-inspected processing plant. If you would like Wyoming Hunger Initiative to assist in setting up a processing date, please contact our office at (307) 274-0365. Processed livestock is donated within local communities from where the beef, hog, or lamb was donated. Donors may also recommend a specific organization within the community to receive the donation.
